Spareribs in the Dutch oven - this recipe is a classic from the pot. No wonder, this tender meat tastes simply delicious. We'll tell you a quick recipe here. Just bring some waiting time to braise.

Preparation with briquettes Burn approx. 20-22 briquettes. Place one half under the Dutch Oven and the other half on the lid when braising.

Preparation

1

Firstly, prepare the ribs. You can simply use the handle of a small spoon or a cake fork to cut off the silver skin on the inside. To do this, slide the spoon under the skin at one end and then slowly run it along the ribs. This makes it easy to remove the skin.

2

Now rub the spare ribs thoroughly with the BBQ rub. While you prepare the rest, place them in the fridge to marinate - preferably covered.

3

Line the base of the Dutch oven with the bacon.

4

Peel the onion and cut it into rings, these can be a little thicker. Wash the peppers, deseed them and cut them into strips. Use about half of the onion and pepper strips to line the sides of the Dutch oven. Place the strips upright on the sides.

5

Then place the spare ribs - also on edge - in the Dutch oven. Place the remaining pieces of onion and pepper between the ribs.

6

Now press the garlic and mix it with 4 tbsp of oil. Then pour this mixture over the ribs.

7

Finally, pour the BBQ sauce over the Dutch Oven spare ribs. Place the lid on the pot and spread half of the prepared briquettes under the Dutch oven or on the lid. Now it's time to wait: the spare ribs will now cook for around 2.5 hours until they are completely tender and soft.

The best way to serve spare ribs in a Dutch oven is with potatoes or chips. Cole slaw is also a perfect alternative and goes perfectly with this American classic.
