This popular dish is very quick to prepare and is also super easy to cook as a vegetarian version for the veggies among you. Simply replace the minced beef with veggie mince and you have chilli sin carne!
Preparation with briquettes
Depending on the size, you should place 7-8 briquettes under the Dutch Oven and approx. 12-14 on the lid when simmering.
Preparation
1
First chop the garlic and dice the onions and optionally the chillies.
2
Heat the olive oil and then add the mince, onions, garlic, tomato puree and chillies and fry everything.
3
Once the mince is cooked, you can now add the kidney beans, chopped tomatoes, tomato purée and sweetcorn. Now just simmer over a low heat with the lid on for about an hour. Finally, season to taste with salt and sugar.
Serve tortillas, nachos or rice with the chilli con carne from the Dutch oven. We recommend a simple yoghurt dip as a dip. Mix yoghurt (min. 10 % fat) with a mixture of herbs, garlic, salt and pepper.
